Celebrities were ranked in accordance with their influence on philanthropic causes.

The Daily Beast recently published what it called the Celebrity Impact Rankings to find out how much the celebrity’s work raised public awareness along with how generous they were.

Justin Timberlake was the most effective philanthropic spokesperson in the US, according to a complicated formula that was used by the site.

Timberlake’s work on the Shriners Hospital for Children was reported to yield $9 million for the organisation over the last two years.

The second celeb on the list was megastar Madonna, whose work with Malawian children generated ‘$5 million+ worth of publicity’ to Raising Malawi since 2007, the website claimed.

Third ranking went to Pamela Anderson for ‘$4 million+ of campaigning’ for PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Others to make the top 10 list were Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Rhianna, George Clooney, Salma Hayek and Shakira.

The phenomen of the celebs sex tapes has really caught on in recent years, in fact if you are a celeb and you have not got a “stolen” home video of your sexploits circulating around the web then you are missing out on a great marketing tool to ressurect your flagging career!
